  • ISAAC European Conference - First Notification Connecting Christian Addiction Workers in Europe. ISAAC is planning a European Conference to be held in Prague from 17th to 20th May 2012. The conferenceis open to ISAAC members worldwide and to others invovled in addiction work as Christians, although many of the topics and sessions will be of interest primarily for those working in Europe.On-line booking and more information will be made available on this website shortly.

  • ISAAC - News from our members News from Chile: In October we heard the news from Ivan Alvarado, ISAAC’s Latin American Coordinator that the Comunidad La Roca, Viña del Mar - the first Therapeutic Community in Chile - received from the Chilean Congress the Bi-centenarian Medal (MEDALLA BICENTENÁRIO) as a recognition of the important work done not only in treatment but also in drug prevention.  Comunidad La Roca has programmes in Viña del Mar, Angol, Villarrica, Imperial and La Union. (www.comunidadlaroca.cl) We are also thankful that Ivan Alvarado and Ruben Pavez from Chile were able to represent ISAAC at the WFTC Executive Council and Board Meeting held in Medellin, Colombia during the Latin American Federation conference in October.   • ISAAC Training in Ethiopia Ethiopia, a country perhaps more readily associated with the Queen of Sheba, Live Aid and famine than drug or alcohol addiction, hosted a training event for church leaders in May 2011. ISAAC was invited to Ethiopia by a contact at World Horizons, who have been working with emerging mission movements in many parts of the world, including partnering with one of the large evangelical denominations in Ethiopia. The church currently has 1.3 million members throughout the country, and is growing at about 10% per year as they seek to reach out to others.
