Ed & Maritza Khouri

The name of our ministry is Equipping Hearts. Maritza and I have worked in the recovery field for many years, and are both people in recovery. In 2003, we founded Equipping Hearts, and began to travel to train others to minister to the needs of hurting and addicted people worldwide. Since then, we have helped train many in the US and around the world for this work. Maritza and I actually began our relationship at the ISAAC Congress in Madrid, and were married later that year.

We heard about ISAAC through friends and ministries here in the US. Our experiences at ISAAC Congresses and as instructors at ISAACS in Egypt have been life-changing. We fell in love with the relational nature of ISAAC and have been greatly blessed to have met so many amazing people. We wanted to be able to strengthen and encourage ISAAC members, and impact the problem of addiction and trauma on a global scale. One of our goals in Equipping Hearts is to serve ISAAC members so that they can more effectively fulfill their own destinies.

We are attending the ISAAC Congress in Holland. We have been working with Dr. Jim Wilder to develop a new approach to addiction and trauma care that can be used in churches and residential recovery centers. This new approach is called “Thriving: Recover Your Life” and Ed and Jim will be sharing these new materials in a series of workshops at the ISAAC Congress. We are also working with Village of Hope in Estonia to develop an addiction ministry training school in Estonia that will serve Northern Europe, The Baltic and Eastern Europe.
