ISAAC Members Map Latest developments from the Ukraine

“Hearing the Voices of HIV/AIDS, Finding Our Own" was the title of the All Ukrainian AIDS-Forum held from the 8th to the 10th of November, just outside Kiev.

Around 160 people gathered from all over Ukraine and neighbouring countries to listen, share and be spurred to action. ISAAC members and staff were involved in the organaisation and delivery of the conference.

Plenary speakers from Africa and many other parts of the world brought a broad depth of international experience. 12 different seminars enabled people to learn and discuss practical aspects of ministry including: Christian prevention programmes and youth, pastoral counselling and HIV/AIDS, support and care for PLWA (People Living with AIDS), Retroviral Therapy, Christian Rehabilitation Centres, Churches role in HIV/AIDS ministry, HIV/AIDS and Family issues. Saturday ended with a focus on “The AIDS crisis: What we can do.” For more information click here.

People were informed, challenged and equipped but the real indicator will come about 6 months from now when we hear how many lives are being touched with acceptance, truth and practical care.
