The next ISAAC International Congress is due to take place in Egypt from 15th-20th October 2006. One of the central themes at the Congress will be the relationship between substance misuse and HIV/AIDS.

The Congress will bring together rehab centres, prevention programmes, street agencies and other professionals working in this field from around the world. As well as generally sharing knowledge and experience, there will be a schedule of teaching sessions, practical workshops and special interest meetings.

Leading experts on drugs and HIV are confirmed as key note speakers at the Congress. Those due to speak at the global gathering include Dr. Patrick Dixon (Chairman of Global Change Ltd, and the fifth leading expert in the world on global issues); Robert Perkinson PhD (Clinical Director, Keystone Treatment Center, USA); Jackie Pullinger-To (St. Stephen’s Society, Hong Kong); and Dr. Ehab El Kharrat (Consultant at UNDP and Executive Director of Freedom Ministries, Egypt).
