Participants enjoy fellowship together

In October 2008 over twenty members of the Moldova network gathered together for a three day seminar in a village not far from Kishinev. The delegates came from diverse work/ministry contexts: some actively involved in prevention work with youth, some in residential rehabilitation centres and others working with support groups. Besides sharing a good time of fellowship and training together, the participants also celebrated the good news of their network (called the Alliance For a Better Life) being recently officially registered. This was a miracle given the numerous obstacles in the way of it happening.

While the teaching of the seminar focused a lot on support groups, it also covered other themes (e.g. collaborating with governmental bodies, HIV/AIDS prevention, youth clubs, networking, and fundraising). All the teaching was done in an interactive way: participants were encouraged to share their feedback on the relevance of each topic, and to develop plans to implement the information presented.

The networking seminar was facilitated by ISAAC and sponsored by a number of other organisations. David Partington came to represent ISAAC, encourage the fellow workers and teach on fundraising and cooperating within a network.
